I will say, for a positive, that her sectioning was fast, exact and the most efficient that I've ever seen. She didn't even have to look. She's obviously been doing this a long time. She has a very good intuition for the shape and contours of the head. And, keeping the hair as wet as possible is always good. ...STOP reading here, if you don't like reading negatives... But, the rest of it was a mess. I have had nightmares about going to get my hair cut that looked a lot like this! For 1 thing, I hate the thinning shears. At best, they can make the finished style look lumpy, with random long pieces sticking out. At worst, they can strip and split the hair, or even rip it out. Secondly, forcefully dragging the comb through the comb through, from crown to neck, rather than detangling it first, will tear the hair out. The client looked like she was in pain, not to mention the fact that she was sprayed directly in the face, several times. Thirdly, the back desperately needed layering. Maybe there was more done after that camera was turned off? ...and the bangs... I just don't even know what to say. I'm not a professional hairdresser, by any means, but, I know a bad haircut when I see one. I've been cutting my own thick, curly, unruly hair for many years. I cut my husband's hair as well. I've done long and short layers, bangs, bobs, and even pixie cuts on myself. I use 2 different typed of combs, clippers & haircutting scissors and a 2nd mirror, to be able to see the back of the head. I was also a dental assistant for years. Job one is to make sure that your client is comfortable and not in pain. Hair cuts shouldn't hurt.
